What is up my friends, it is been awhile since my last update: and I apologize. Here's what's going on in my life.
I went back to Virginia for a couple weeks during Christmas to see my family. It was great to catch up, and I haven't spent that many days off stage in a row in years. I finally got some business cards made! It's about time. I got 250 of them, & I made the graphics myself on MS Paint. I am kinda proud of them.
When I got back to Portland, I had a weekend at Helium waiting for me. All 5 shows went great, I had some new material from Christmas break and I got to work out some new tags. The headliners were Adam Ray and Dan Soder. They co headlined and switched off every night. They are both great guys on and off stage.
I did a show with my friend Don frost out in the tri-cities area. It was an overnighter, in a hotel conference room, for a radio station. A nice four hour drive there and back, gave me plenty of time to talk Star Trek with Don. The show went great, I was worried at first because it was very light 30 minutes until showtime, but in that 30 minutes the place filled out. There were about 60 people there, and I went up cold with a very basic intro, and won that room over quick. I felt great getting off stage and watched as Don killed it. Plus I made a new fan, a very pretty one at that so yeah, that was a great night. We ended up doing some karaoke afterwards and I watched Don drink a dozen or so fireballs and get wasted. Good times.
I was booked at Harveys last week and did a fun Wednesday show, and then got snowed out for the rest of the week. Bummer. But this story has a happy ending, because I got booked the very next week! So I never really lost money or stage time this month, just a slight delay. The shows at Harveys went very well, Saturday all three shows were sold out and I performed in front of 800 plus people. The feature was Keith Ellis, and the headliner is Chas Elstner, both super friendly guys that know what they are doing on stage. Sunday I decided to eat some mushrooms before my show, not a lot, just enough to feel... tingly. That show was a blast, sold out as well, and everything felt amazing. I recorded the audio from all shows, and worked some new tags into some old jokes. Definitely a very productive weekend for me.
I will keep you updated more regularly if I remember...
