Ridgefield Theater

This past Saturday I got to perform in the Ridgefield theater. Its a beautiful old theater in the small town of Ridgefield about 30 minutes north of Portland. Holds about 200, and it was pretty packed for the show. The lineup was great and the crowd was responsive.
I went up second and did about 20 minutes. I got great reactions and shot the shit with a lot of the audience, a lot of riffing and keeping it loose. This was a good loose set for me to just unwind amd have fun.

Comic Strip

I'm back at Funhouse Lounge for another episode of Comic Strip! This is a great show, comics take turns doing sets and getting undressed as the strip master rings their bell. Really fun format and comics can get as naked as they want to.
I get totally nude, I love it. 10ish people sitting their watching me take it all off, very empowering. My wet goes well, I'm headlining the show, and by the time I took to the stage the crowd had been their for 2 hours...long show. Set still was great and I filmed it!
    Porn hub here I come!

Helium Secret Headliner Show

Tonight I got asked to feature for the secret headliner show at Helium. I'm excited and a little anxious cuz I don't know who the headliner is, but either way I get the feature so it's going to be a good time. The crowd was packed, 200 plus people showed up without even knowing who the headliner was and they were lucky cuz it was Jeff Dye! A great guy, great comic, and a great time for everybody that was there.
My set was killer, I say that very bluntly. I went up and at the very start I had the audience loving me, it's slowed down a little near the end with my crack stories but from start to finish it was a really solid set. I look forward to the video!

Helium Open Mic

It's Tuesday so that means it's Open Mic at Helium! I go in there feeling pretty ok cuz I came up with five minutes of new material after work today and going over it in my head it sounds good. I get to the club and it's a real nice audience, loud and responsive. I go up and do my new material and I get a medium response to it. Nothing good or bad, I have a couple of decent riffs but overall not my best work.
That's the beauty of comedy, it always keeps you on your toes

Nariko's going away show at Helium

Tuesday was bittersweet. On one hand I got to be part of a great show with an audience of 200 people, on the other hand this was a send-off for my good friend and fellow comedian nariko ott. Noriko is a good dude and has always been a great friend, but now he's moving to New York to stretch his legs. I will be following him pretty soon as well, but I'll be going to LA.
The Show Goes fantastic. There's 6 comics on the show they each do 10 minutes of material. Everybody has great sets, the audience is loud and energetic. While everyone was great, I felt like I killed it, even with some of my riffs about Papa Roach and what not, it was a really solid set. I probably should have recorded it.

Secret Society

Monday night I got to be a part of a great little show at the secret society Theatre. This is a great 2nd floor venue they can hold about 250 people. The weather is terrible outside, roads are all iced over but still about 40 or 50 people show up.
The show format is pretty unique, it starts off as a panel with the comics on stage behind a dais chiming in with their opinions about Anonymous articles written into the paper. It goes well and everybody get some good ribs in. After the panel there's a brief 10-minute intermission and then the comedy starts. I go up last and have a great set, all of my jokes seem to hit pretty hard and I left there feeling pretty good about myself.

Looking Glass Theater in Bend

Last night I got to headline a show in Bend, at a new venue called Looking Glass. It's a food/gift/theater shop with a bunch of weird shit for sale. Hippy stuff like crystals and incense. The show is held in a small room by itself with French doors dividing it from the sales floor. Holds about 40.
Getting there was rough because of the snow and ice but one we got to the pass it was all clear. Took about 5 hours, got there with 30 mins to spare, good timing. About 15 people were in the audience and they were really cool. All couples too, weird. I did about an hour and got a lot of great hits and it was def a trip worth making.
On the way back I took a wrong turn and ended up going through salem. It was nice driving back, no traffic. But unfortunately by heater stopped working...luckily that was the last hour of the trip. A brutally cold last hour.

NYE show at Mister Theater

About a month ago my friend Jake asked me to be part of a New Year's Eve show that he knew nothing about and I agreed. New Year's Eve came, and I went to the theater, a small brand new Theater built into a warehouse that could hold about 60 people. It was nice, large stage but you could tell her everything was new and there was no Spotlight it was pretty basic.
There was only about 12 people in the audience. It wasn't a very good show but it was better than nothing on New Year's Eve. Jake started the show and did about 10 minutes to "warm them up". Redeeming factors being that my friend Jake and a couple other Comics I like and respect were there. I had some pretty good riffs though, I didn't record the set but I remembered a few of them.    Happy New Year everyone.

Capitol City Theater

Merry Christmas everyone, at least I hope it was for you. I was back in Virginia for a week with my family and it was a really fun and casual time. Good food, good friends, and star filled skies. I dig it.
I got back Thursday night and had a show on Friday at the capitol city theater in Salem. I was headlining and it felt good to do an hour after being off for a week. They lit me at 30 minutes but then I just lost track of time and ended up recording 59 minutes on my phone. It was a full room but they were not very loud. All three of the comics before me were getting very mild responses from the audience and my set wasn't much different. I had a few applause breaks and whatnot but it wasn't booming.
It was still great and I look forward to going back to Salem. I like that theater.
