Brody Theater

I went out on this Thursday to Brody Theater. I haven't been going to this place like I used too, this is one of the first places I started in. Great atmosphere and cool posters on the walls, very welcoming. I got there about 20 minutes to showtime and hung out with the few people I knew.
It's weird to walk into a place I used to frequent and not recognize half of the people in the room. I'm old in the comedy scene now, 4+ years into it. I'm glad I've gotten to a place where I am comfortable calling myself a comic and people in the city know who I am. I was def the ... and I hate to use this term... but "biggest" comic in the room that night. I'm not a "big" comic, I'm not a diva, I am just a guy who has kept at it and gotten to be a regular at both clubs...I went back and read some of my first posts on this blog and it really brings back a lot of memories. I used to be an open mic exclusive... Now Im opening up for Dave Attell to sold out crowds at the coolest club in town. When did this happen?
Anyways... My set at Brody was "meh". I went up there with a ballpark idea on what I wanted to talk about, and it was topical, just something I wanted to get off my chest. This wasn't so much a set as it was me just venting a little. Still productive. Afterwards, I hit up the arcade and played pinball and then went to a karaoke bar and sang The Cure. Love life.
